It means a sport where three branches are done together. These branches are swimming, cycling and running one after the other. As soon as the athlete finishes the distance of each branch, he enters the change area and starts the other branch, on the condition of following certain rules, in order to wear his clothes in accordance with the rules. In other words, it is not enough for the athlete to be successful in only one branch, he also has to do the trainings of other branches and to work the muscle groups. In addition, he has to maintain both his energy and stamina by keeping his tactical and technical level at the highest level.

In the swimming step, the athlete can swim in any style, not with a certain swimming style. In triathlon, swimming is 1.5 kilometers, cycling is 40 kilometers and running is 10 kilometers.
